What material are typical refrigerator condenser made of ?


This is very interesting question! According to various application, refrigerator condenser have to take the different material, to match our use. Before answering this question, we have to know how to work on refrigerator condensers.

The refrigerator condenser is the main part of heat exchanging system, it radiates the heat into outside, and decease the temperature of refrigerant (R134a, R406 Freon, Water, Ammonia, Carbon Dioxide) extract the heat from the room/cold room into air. So everywhere, the fridge condenser is working in the high temperature, high moisture circumstances, it takes very harm to the material, and we have to consider the rusted problem, well, protecting surface painting is necessary .and considering the rate of heat exchangers, copper tube and copper fins is our first choice, and we also can take carbon steel, and decreasing the heat exchanging area to take the same radiating functions. In the extremity circumstances, Such as Island, Seaside, not only high temperature, and high moisture, also Height salty .it cannot hold a long life to use normal material.

Structure of Refrigeration condensers

Regarding to kinds of rate exchanging type, we have the following structure 

A: Copper tube, fined type refrigerator condensers, it is air to refrigerant heat exchangers, which usually applied in home appliance , such as refrigerator,freezer,water dispensers.

B: tube in tube heat exchangers, main material copper /carbon steel , some will take titanium , which is water to water heat exchangers , This exchanger usually consists of two concentric pipes with the inner pipe plain or finned One fluid flows in the inner pipe and the other fluid flows in the annulus between pipes in a counter ?ow direction for the ideal highest performance for the given surface area. However, if the application requires an almost constant wall temperature, the fluids may ?ow in a parallel ?ow direction. This is perhaps the simplest heat exchanger. Flow distribution is no problem, and cleaning is done very easily by disassembly. This con?guration  is also suitable where one or both of the fluids is at very high pressure, usually used in ice machine, and air conditioner, and heat pump.

C shell and tube heat exchangers 

The basic is sealed either by welding at each side of the channel or by providing a gasket (non–asbestos based) at each end cover to obtain the following alternative arrangements of the two fluids : both fluids in spiral counter?ow;  one fluid in spiral ?ow, the other in cross?ow across the spiral; or one fluids in spiral ?ow, the other in a combination of cross?ow and spiral ?ow. The entire assembly is housed in a cylindrical shell enclosed by two (or only one or no) circular end covers (depending on the ?ow arrangements above), either ?at or conical. Carbon steel and stainless steel are common materials. Other materials used include titanium, Hastelloy, and Incoloy.

We have to use stainless steel /copper-Nickel alloy/titanium Material, only they could suffer the extremely harm Now can you answer the previous question!!
