how much energy is stored in the capacitor ?

How do capacitors store energy?Everyone knows that the most important function of capacitors is to store energy. Capacitors also include start capacitors and run capacitors. To understand how it works, first of all, we need to know what capacitance is.

Capacitance, also known as capacitance, is the amount of charge stored at a given potential difference, denoted by C, international unit farad (F). Generally speaking, the electric charge will be forced to move in the electric field. The capacitor is one of the few electrical components which can store energy. The capacitor unit are F, MF,UF, NF, PF,. Our capacitors mainly use uf. The amount of energy of capacitor is according to the model number .for example, the model of 5uf has more energy than 4uf capacitor. the capacitor also has different dimension. the products which are longer and wider, will have more energy. 

There is a formula which could calculate the energy of capacitor. Its Q=0.5*C*U2. C=capacitance （unit F）,u =voltage(UNIT V),RESULT UNIT is j. IF YOU want to use a capacitor of 1000uf to change to be 220v electricity, then the energy is 0.5x0.001x220x220=24.2J. so the capacitance is larger, the energy will be more in the capacitor.

When we produce the capacitor, the numbers of turn of the core is more, the capacitance is larger. According to international standard , it allows +-5% difference for the capacitance. but some of our customers don’t like the -5% difference, they only prefer +5 % difference. its more easier to sell in their own market.  so we will add the turns of the capacitor core to make sure the capacitance is more than its normal energy.

Because our capacitors are mainly used for starting or running motor, the total energy is not much. its always less than 100uf,the biggest one is around 120uf.
